About me, Joanne Raichart

I am excited to be teaching in the Hudson Valley.  Prior to teaching here in Washingtonville, New York, I taught piano in Jersey City, New Jersey; Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Austin, Texas; Boise, Idaho; Clarkston, Washington; Pocatello and Driggs, Idaho.  In the spring of 2015 I celebrated 50 years of teaching piano.  Originally from Driggs, Idaho, I studied piano with Chester Hill and at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.  I have done free lance work for many years as an accompanist for low brass players and vocalists, performing in venues from Jackson Hole to Austin, from Washington State to New York as both soloist and accompanist.  I am a member of the Music Teachers National Association, currently serving as District 5 Chairperson. A few years ago I authored an adult piano course, Piano Arts:  An Adult Approach.  I spend my free time in the American Museum of Natural History in NYC as a volunteer in exhibits.   I’ve been married for 43 years to Randy Raichart, and we have 4 married children and 5 grandchildren–Noah, Claire, Gavin,  Sadie Jane, and Gideon.
