June Notes

DSCF0016.JPG   Mount Moran in the Teton Range, Grand Teton National Park

Greetings to everyone.  Though it was a short piano month, May saw many great accomplishments on the part of many students this month.  Special congratulations to Emily Dianis who performed beautifully at NYSSMA on Saturday.  What a great accomplishment for her to memorize a three movement sonatina in a short time and perform it well.  Many students progressed by leaps and bounds this month, some overcoming sticky obstacles that have plagued their progression in the past.  The key is perseverance.  Congratulations all around.

Lessons will follow the usual schedule this week, June 4-8.  There will be no lessons the week of June 10-17th.  I had originally planned to go west to help my parents the end of June, however circumstances now demand that I go earlier than planned.  Lessons will resume June 18th on the regular schedule.  Thank you for your understanding.  I anticipate that many of you will have travel plans during the summer.  Just let me know when you will be missing lessons.

The photo at the top of this post has nothing to do with piano.  This mountain is just north of the Grand Teton, which many of you know from photographs above my piano.  It inspires me just the same.
