A Fine Performance

Here’s Melvine concentrating very hard on his performance at Saturday’s recital.  What a grand time it was!  I was very proud of all of the students and enjoyed their enthusiasm and excitement.  Thanks to all of the parents and grandparents, and others, who support the kids.  If you were unable to attend, I encourage you to hold a family and friends recital of your own.  Hopefully in the spring many more will be able to attend.

SCHEDULE NOTESThere will be no lessons from December 22nd to January 1st.  Lessons will resume on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007.  Have a wonderful vacation!

Directions to the Recital

(from Washingtonville, Goshen, Monroe)  heading east on 94:  drive through Washingtonville on 94 headed east towards Vails Gate.  Go about 5 miles to the intersection of 94 and Mt. Airy Road.  Turn left.  (There’s a light at the intersection.)  Follow Mt. Airy to the T intersection, and turn left again.  Follow this road for about a mile or so, past the reservoir, and turn right into the parking lot of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  There is a one-way sign into the parking lot.

From North:  take Little Britain Road (207) headed east from 300, to the blue Belle Catering sign, turn here.  Follow that road until Mt. Airy, turn left on Mt. Airy.  Church will be on the left side of the street after a sharp curve.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday at 9:30.  We’ll be finished by 10 a.m.  See you then!

December Notes

Please notice the post under this one for information regarding the Holiday Recital

Student of the Month:  I have broken with tradition and announce an adult student as the student of the month for December.  Michael Schiavone earns this recognition for his tenacity and dedication to practice.  He has remarkable practice skills, which will serve him well throughout his musical life.  Congratulations, Mike.  Mike has been playing for nearly a year.

Business notes:  Please call me if you will not be attending your lesson.  I have noticed a surge in no-shows.  Most teachers charge for lessons missed without notification. I have been very lenient with my attendance policy, but I will be charging for missed lessons when I have not received notification prior to the lesson time.   I can be easily reached by cell phone or land line, or email.  Please call if you will not be attending.  Thank you.

Have a wonderful month of preparation for the Holidays.  See you all soon!

Holiday Recital

The Holiday Recital will be held on Saturday, December 16th, at 9:30 AM.  It will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel on Mt. Airy Road in New Windsor.  I will hand out maps at lessons next week if you need them.  Invite as many friends and relatives as you would like.  The dress will be business casual for audience members, but the performer’s dress is dresses for girls, and nice shirt and pants for boys.  NO LEVIS, please.  It will be a short recital, with possibly ten children playing, plus myself.  Yes, the teacher will be on the hotseat as well.  Songs need not be memorized for the Holiday recital, but memorization will be required for recital in May.  If you have any questions, please post them as comments to this web post, or give me a call.
